Installation
Opening the app on macOS
When you try to open the app for the first time, macOS may block it because it was downloaded from the internet and isn’t signed by an identified developer. This is expected and easy to resolve.
- Double-click the .pkg file. You’ll see a warning that it can’t be opened. Choose Done, do not click Move to Trash.
- Open System Settings from the Apple menu in the top-left corner of your screen.
- Go to Privacy & Security, then scroll down to the Security section.
- You’ll see a message indicating the app was blocked to protect your Mac. Click Open Anyway.
- Enter your login password if prompted, then click OK.
After this, the installer will open and you can proceed normally.
Installing on Windows
During installation or when updating plugins, Windows may ask for administrator permission. This is required so the plugin manager can install and update files correctly.
- When prompted by Windows User Account Control, click Yes to allow the app to make changes.
- If SmartScreen appears, click More info, then choose Run anyway.
- Continue with the installation or update process as normal.
Once approved, the app will run normally and won’t require repeated confirmation unless elevated access is needed again.
Running the app on Linux
On Linux, you may need to give the downloaded file permission to run before opening it.
- Locate the downloaded file, usually an .AppImage file.
- Right-click the file, open Properties, and enable Allow executing file as program.
- Double-click the file to run it.
Alternatively, you can run it from the terminal:
chmod +x your-file.AppImage ./your-file.AppImage
After this, the app should launch normally.
